Members Convicted by Jury in Brazen Racketeering Murder

memphis-2-2

A federal jury in Memphis convicted two members of the Memphis street gang, “the Unknown Vice Lords” for the murder a fellow gang member who they suspected of betrayal.

When the gang’s Supreme Elite Chief, the leader for the entire state, was murdered in 2019, the gang sought retaliation against anyone thought to be involved.

High-ranking members, 42 year old Edward Allen, and 29 year old Deandre Rodgers, conducted their own internal investigation and came to believe that a fellow UVL member was responsible for their Chief’s murder.

Five days later, the implicated fellow gang member, was murdered by execution at the hands of Allen, Rodgers.

The jury convicted the pair of causing death by use of a firearm during a racketeering murder. Sentencing is scheduled for May 11th, and both face a maximum penalty of life in prison.
