
Union City Council members have approved a first reading on a new ordinance pertaining to the sale of fireworks.
City Manager Johnny McTurner explained the changes being made for the holidays of the Fourth of July and New Years.(AUDIO)
McTurner gave other guidelines of the ordinance, along with firework shooting hours within the city.(AUDIO)
Council members agreed to provide copies of the ordinance to any prospective seller of fireworks during the holidays.
The first reading passed on a 6-0 vote, with Councilman Patrick Smith absent.
