A Martin man faces multiple charges after failing to report a death, moving the body of the deceased and attempting to tamper with evidence.
Around 10:30 in the morning on February 19th, 24 year old Elisha Stewart reported a deceased individual inside his residence on Old Troy Road, to Martin Police Department.
Mr. Stewart reports discovering the body, February 13th and did not report it to authorities.
The deceased victim was identified as 22-year-old Alexander Warren.
According to the affidavit, Stewart moved Mr. Warren’s body from inside the Martin residence to the backyard and attempted to clean the upstairs floor to remove evidence.
Stewart is also accused of killing Mr. Warren’s small dog.
He faces charges of Abuse of a corpse, Fabricating or tampering with evidence, Failure to report discovery of a dead body and Aggravated cruelty to animals. His court hearing is scheduled for March 4th.
