A Union City man was arrested on two counts of criminal attempt to commit second degree murder following a Saturday night shooting.
Union City Police Department reports said 33 year old Darius Tremaine Ward was taken into custody on Monday, following an investigation.
An officer was dispatched Saturday night to shots fired near 1331 Hillsboro Street just before 11:00.
At the scene, police made contact with 61 year old Dexter G. Robinson, of Union City, and 51 year old Micheal Davis Miner, of Clinton, Kentucky, who were sitting in a vehicle when the shots were fired.
The officer observed what appeared to be a bullet hole in the front windshield of Miner’s vehicle, along with bullet holes in the side bed of the truck and one of the tires.
Following the shooting, police reports said a description of a male on a bicycle, and a female walking, led police to the questioning of Ward at a residence.
On Monday, police located Ward on Honeysuckle Street and advised him of his Miranda rights.
During questioning about the incident, police reports said Ward admitted to shooting into the vehicle with a .9-milimeter handgun after Miner and Robinson were “making fun of him” for riding a bicycle and not having a vehicle.
Neither victim was injured during the shooting, with Ward telling police he had no intention of injuring or killing either victim.
