Union City High School football player Andre Small will continue his education and playing days at Bethel University in McKenzie.
School Communications Director Mike Hutchens said Small signed scholarship papers to play for the Wildcats on Wednesday.
Bethel head football coach Chris Springer said Small was a high character young man, on top of being a really good football player.
Small racked up 162 career tackles from his secondary position, and was a two-way starter his senior season for the Tornadoes in 2025. He ranked third on the team in tackles, despite missing a handful of games due to injury, and also finished second in rushing with 435 yards.
The 5’10” 185-pound senior said he feels he can take things he has learned at Union City and be a better player at Bethel.
Coach Springer said he hopes to use Small at safety, along with a look at his play on special teams.
