The University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball team dropped the final game of the 2025-26 regular season, 67-60, to Tennessee State Saturday at the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center in Martin.
The Skyhawks were cruising through the first half, shooting 52.9-percent from the floor and leading by five at the break, 34-29. However, in the third, the Lady Tigers went on a 21-0 run and outscored the Skyhawks, 21-8, in the quarter.
In the fourth, UT Martin trimmed a 10-point Tennessee State lead to just two with 1:16 to play on a 3-pointer from Brittani Wells. Despite the rally, the Skyhawks were outscored 5- over the final 35 seconds, to give the Tigers the win.
In the nightcap, The University of Tennessee at Martin men’s basketball team got behind early and could not recover, falling 67-42 to Ohio Valley Conference regular season co-champion Tennessee State at the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center.
The Skyhawks conclude the regular season with a 21-10 record and 13-7 mark in league play, entering next week’s OVC Championship in Evansville, Ind. as the No. 4 seed.
