The Jackson Police Department has announced an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting in early January.

Following an aggressive investigation by the Jackson Police Department Major Crimes Division, Gary McNeal II was indicted by the Madison County Grand Jury on the charge of Second-Degree Murder and Employing a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony.

The charges stem from the shooting death of Schuyler Taylor on January 4th, which occurred on the parking lot of King Babas on Old Hickory Boulevard.

Police had responded to reports of gunfire, when Taylor was located and transported to a Jackson hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Using critical tips provided by members of the community, McNeal was taken into custody by Jackson police and the U.S. Marshals Service.
