Skyhawk Women End Season To SIUE

EVANSVILLE, Ind. –  The University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball team’s 2025-26 season came to a close Wednesday afternoon with a 63-49 loss to SIUE as part of the 2026 Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Championships at the Ford Center in Evansville.

“I thought our team gave everything they had in the game,” said head coach Kevin McMillan after the game.  “Unfortunately, in the second half, we just ran out of gas.”

The Cougars led by a bucket after the first quarter, 18-16. However, after the Cougars took a five-point lead with 3:27 remaining in the half, the Skyhawks ended the quarter on a 9-0 run, to take a four-point lead into the locker room at the break, 29-25.

In the second half, the Cougars took over and outscored UT Martin, 38-20, over the final 20 minutes of the game. Only up five boards over the Skyhawks at halftime, SIUE dominated the glass in the second half, outrebounding UT Martin, 21-10. The Cougars tallied 18 offensive rebounds in the game, compared to just six by the Skyhawks.

Norah Clark led three Skyhawks in double-digits in the game with 12 points with Zy Thompson and Kenley McCarn adding 12 and 10, respectively. McCarn led UT Martin’s rebounding efforts in the game with seven, while Brittani Wells and Thompson each had two assists, and Norah Clark had the only two steals of the game for her team.

The 2025-26 UT Martin Skyhawks end their season with an overall record of 13-17, a 9-11 mark in OVC play and a 9-5 record at the Elam Center.
