BlueOval S-K is laying off 150 workers immediately.
BlueOval is the battery-manufacturing plant of the planned BlueOval City facility in Haywood County.
Ford announced it is no longer planning to build electric vehicles at the Stanton plant known as BlueOval City. The original timeline had trucks coming off the assembly line by 2026.
In a press release the Tennessee Electric Vehicle Center will be renamed the Tennessee Truck Plant.
The focus will now move to gas-powered trucks, with production pushed back to 2029.
The Ford employees, tied to the production of gas-powered trucks, will not be impacted.
Employees who are losing their job will receive their regular pay and benefits for the next 60 days.
