The Westview Lady Chargers saw their season come to an end in the opening round of the Class-2A TSSAA State Basketball Tournament in Murfreesboro.
York Institute beat the Lady Chargers 44-36.
The key to the ballgame came in the second quarter, when Westview was held to only one free throw and outscored 10-1 in the period.
York Institute also gained from the free throw line, hitting 9-of-13 from the charity stripe while the Lady Chargers were 3-for-4 during the game.
Following the game, coach Brian Haskins applauded the play of his team and the dedication of his senior players Josey Clark, Annabelle Holmeshurns and Sarah Beth Byars.
