The full Obion County Commission heard a request on Monday to consider the future election of the Highway Department Superintendent.
Commissioner Rob Holman presented the issue to the Budget Committee and full commission, saying he and constituents want to replace the current procedure of hiring the position.
After the proposal by Holman, and the guest comments from Tanner Nichols of Obion County, Commissioner Danny Jowers addressed the board.(AUDIO)
Jowers then discussed the issue of new Commissioners coming to the board.(AUDIO)
County Attorney Steve Conley then requested Commissioner Jowers to change his motion from table to postpone until October to allow additional debate.
The motion was made and was unanimously approved for discussion at the October meeting.
