Today is the first official day of Spring, or officially called vernal equinox.
On this day, both daylight and darkness are each 12 hours in length.
Spring officially arrived in the area this morning at 9:46.
During the spring season, the axis of the Earth is increasing its tilt toward the Sun and the length of daylight rapidly increases.
With the seasonal transition, the hemisphere also begins to warm significantly.
Spring will remain in the area until June 21st, when the first official day of Summer arrives.
