Former Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin was sentenced to 60 days in jail Tuesday for contempt of court after failing to turn over financial documents in a dispute with his estranged son.
An active arrest warrant was issued, though Bevin can avoid jail by paying a $500 fine and complying with the financial disclosures.
The Jefferson Family Court Judge Angela Johnson found Bevin in contempt for providing “incomplete and redacted” financial documents, violating previous court orders.
Bevin served as Governor served from 2015 to 2019 as was the 62nd governor. He lost a second term to Democrat Andy Beshear.
