Three people were killed in Western Kentucky after a vehicle crashed into the Mississippi River at Columbus.
The Hickman County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash, which occurred at the Ingram Barge location on Saturday evening.
Reports said employees at Ingram contacted officials when a car struck the ramp and plunged into the river.
The sheriff’s office said the three victims were discovered after a diver with McCracken County Emergency Management dove down and connected a wrecker with the car.
Kentucky State Police at Post 1, Buddy’s Wrecker Service and Hickman County first responders assisted at the scene.
The names of the victims have not been released at this time.
