A Trenton man has been sentenced to federal prison after being determined an Armed Career Criminal.

Tennessee Western District United States Attorney Michael Dunavant said 30 year old Cameron Treon Banks was sentenced to 240 months for illegally possessing a firearm by a convicted felon.

In December of 2021, Banks was found in possession of five firearms, 387 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana and over $1,200 in cash while at a residence in Bradford.

Banks was serving a 10-year supervised probation as a convicted felon for committing two separate aggravated assaults in Gibson County in 2012 and one in 2016.

Following his guilty plea to being a felon in possession of a firearm, Senior United States District Judge J. Daniel Breen issued the twelve year sentence.

U.S. Attorney Dunavant said Banks sentence, with no parole, will finally remove him from the community and make Gibson County and West Tennessee a safer place.
