More than two months after a major winter storm hit the Volunteer State, officials announced that Tennessee has received an amendment to the major disaster declaration that expands available aid to include individual assistance from the FEMA for 29 impacted counties.

According to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, survivors in the following counties are now able to apply for individual assistance: Benton, Carroll, Decatur, Dyer, Fayette, Hardeman, Hardin, Henderson and several other counties.

All 95 counties were either designated for FEMA public assistance or emergency protective measures under public assistance.

Individual assistance can help eligible survivors with disaster-related expenses like temporary housing, home repairs, replacement of essential personal property, and other serious needs.
