The Obion County School System has honored a South Fulton resident with their “Outstanding Alumni” for May.
Obion County Schools Communication Director Lauren Kendall said South Fulton High School Class of 1984 member Kenny Mayo was selected for his many contributions.
Mayo has spent more than 30 years as the owner and operator of Mayo’s Body Shop, specializing in vehicle restoration and custom paint.
Beyond his professional success, he has dedicated countless hours to serving Obion County through leadership and community involvement.
Mayo currently serves as an Obion County Commissioner and has spent the past 10 years as Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Committee.
His commitment to the community also includes his eight years of service with the South Fulton Rotary Club, as well as seven years leading the Twin Cities Banana Festival Car Show.
His roots in South Fulton schools run deep, with six children and grandchildren already graduating from South Fulton High School, one graduating this year, and three more currently attending South Fulton Elementary.
