
Reaction to the Obion County Budget Committee’s motion for funding of the county school system drew a response during Monday’s meeting.
Despite a request for additional funding for the next school year, a motion was made and approved to fund the school system with the almost $9.3 million dollars as the previous year.
Following a presentation and motion by Budget member Rob Holman, board member Ryan Ellegood said he could not support the tax increase needed to fill the school systems financial request.(AUDIO)

Director Watkins handed out salary schedules and a letter from their attorney explaining the schedules.
Following the 6-0 vote to provide no new funding for the school year, Director Watkins said they would adjust the best they could and try to balance the budget.
