Martin Alderman Marvin Flatt passed away Tuesday at a healthcare facility in Paris.
Alderman Flatt had served the residents of Martin since 2016.
During his service, the 71 year old Flatt was appointed to numerous city committees.
He grew up in Lawrenceburg and became an educator teaching agriculture.
Flatt also served under Governor Ned Ray McWherter as an assistant Agriculture Commissioner.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Murphy Funeral Home.
