A statue of the late Tina Turner will be unveiled this week during “Tina Turner Heritage Days” in Brownsville.

This year’s celebration runs Thursday to Sunday and will feature the unveiling of a Seven-foot, Nine-inch bronze Tina Turner Statue in Brownsville’s Heritage Park Saturday morning at 10.

The statue will face Carver High School, where Turner once attended and played basketball, creating a symbolic bridge between her humble beginnings in West Tennessee and her global cultural impact.

The statue joins the Tina Turner Museum at Flagg Grove School, as a cornerstone of Turner’s permanent legacy in the region.

In addition to the statue unveiling, this year’s Heritage Days will host a lineup of distinguished guests and performers as well as experiences.

Tina Turner was born Anna Mae Bullock in Nutbush, near Brownsville. She passed away in 2023 at the age of 83.
