For the fourth time in as many seasons, the Westview Lady Chargers are Region Champions.
Westview improved to 13-3-1, shutting out the Fillies for the third time this season to secure the Region 6AA championship.. Hayden Markowski scored the first of her two goals just one minute into the contest.. Ashlee Brent (20′, 38′, 40′) and Maddie Horton (21′, 25, 39′) recorded hat tricks in the first half to take an 8-0 lead at the break.
The game ended seven minutes into the second half when defender Tessa Anderson was moved to forward, and scored her first goal of the season to end the match with the nine goal mercy rule.
Westview’s defense was stellar once again as Huntingdon failed to take a single shot in the contest.
Westview will face either Cascade or Forrest on Saturday, in Martin. The opponent and time will be announced when determined.
