Following a three day trial in federal court in Jackson, a Dyersburg man was found guilty on two counts of federal drug trafficking.

Tennessee Western District United States Attorney Michael Dunavant said 46 year old Vinson Brent Taylor received the verdict following the two phase trial.

Court reports said Phase I of the trial included an officer with the Dyersburg Police Department investigating a rental car on the scene of a fight at Taylor’s residence.

The August of 2024 incident resulted in the location of various quantities of crack cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana and ecstasy in the vehicle which contained Taylor’s cell phone and rental agreement.

During Phase II of the trial, the government presented evidence of Taylor’s prior significant criminal history which will subject him to an enhanced punishment under the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines.

He will be sentenced on August 10th and faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison.
