Conger wins runoff election for Jackson mayor

WBBJ reports Scott Conger as the unofficial winner of Tuesday’s runoff election for mayor of Jackson.

The runoff election was between Conger and Dr. Jerry Woods, the two candidates who received the most votes in the May 7 municipal election.

The 35-year-old Conger’s term begins July 1.

According to the Madison County Election Commission, this was the first runoff election for Jackson mayor since 1971.
