Former UT-Martin football standout Colton Dowell is now recovering from knee surgery.

The Tennessee Titans seventh round draft choice suffered the season ending injury in Week 17 at Houston.

The rookie receiver, turned special teams player, tore his ACL against the Texans.

In a featured story by Jim Wyatt on the Tennessee Titans website, Dowell said there was no time for moping, adding that the injury was “another part of God’s plan” for his life.

He played in 10 games this past season as a rookie, drawing multiple raves from coach Mike Vrabel for his special teams play.

Dowell said a good chunk of his offseason will be recovering and rehabbing, with plans to get better.
