Obion County Mayor Steve Carr has been informed of funding dollars for the I-69 Troy By-Pass project.

Tennessee U.S. Congressman David Kustoff secured $10-million dollars for the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

A press releases said the funds are for the widening of two sections of I-69, also known as the Troy By-Pass.

Once completed, the by-pass will allow for the future connection of I-69 to Kentucky in the north and I-155 in Dyersburg to the south.

Congressman Kustoff said the Troy By-Pass will allow for the safer and more efficient travel of people and goods through West Tennessee.

The funding was included in the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriation Act that was passed by the House of Representatives on March 6th.
