South Fulton High School is excited to welcome Cole Clanton as the new head football coach for the Red Devils.
School Communications Director Lauren Kendall said Clanton is an Obion County native and 2005 graduate of Obion County Central High School.
He brings over 14 years of coaching experience to the Red Devils program.
As a standout athlete, Clanton went on to play football at Bethel University, where he earned a scholarship and later served as a graduate assistant. He holds a B.S. in History with a minor in Educational Studies.
Clanton has served in various coaching roles across the region, including stints at Union City High School, McKenzie High School, South Side High School, and OCCHS. Most recently, he was the offensive coordinator at UCHS and also served as a head middle school coach.
Coach Clanton shared his excitement about this new chapter:
“I am extremely honored to lead and serve the Red Devil program. Coaching is about building relationships—when people know you care, it forms bonds that last a lifetime. My family and I are excited and grateful for the opportunity to be part of the South Fulton community. I look forward to serving the students and staff.”
He and his wife, Laken, a local nurse practitioner, live in Obion County with their three children—Kade, Collins, and Bowden.
