The 16-30 UT Martin softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader against SIUE on Sunday.
SIUE beat the Skyhawks 4-0 in game one and 6-5 in game two of the regular season finale. In game one the Cougars scored four runs on seven hits, while blanking the Skyhawks and limiting them to only three hits.
In game two, UTM fell behind early but managed to gain a lead by the 4th inning. The Cougars tied the game an inning later and took the lead in the 11th.
The No.8 Skyhawks will start off the 2025 OVC Softball Championship on Wednesday in Peoria, Illinois against No.5 Lindenwood. First pitch is at 12:30.
