Union City Police Investigating Vandalism to Kiwanis Park Fountain

Union City police are investigating the vandalism of the fountain at Kiwanis Park in downtown Union City.

Parks and Recreation Director Hunter Wilbanks informed police that a group of juveniles, accompanied by adults, damaged the fountain on May 5th.

The police report said video showed the juveniles throwing sod, as well as concrete blocks into the fountain.

Wilbanks said the concrete blocks damaged some of the water lines, as well as lighting inside the fountain.

Damage to the recently refurbished fountain was placed at approximately $4,500.

Anyone with any information about the Kiwanis Park vandalism is asked to contact the Union City Police Department.
