Members of the Hickman American Legion Post 57 were paying respect to veterans on Thursday.
Post members and volunteers gathered to place American flags at the gravesites of veterans at five locations.
Approximately 500 flags were placed at the cemeteries, which will now remain throughout the Memorial Day weekend.
Those cemeteries include Poplar Grove, Sassafras Ridge, Hickman City, Beech Grove and the Brownsville Cemetery.
