
The Tennessee Department of Transportation will assist motorists for their 4th of July holiday travel.
TDOT Commissioner Butch Ely has announced that all construction related lane closures on interstates and state routes will be suspended at noon on Thursday.
The lane closures will remain in place until 6:00 on Monday, July 7th.
Commissioner Eley said the lane closure suspension allows motorists to reach their destinations safely and without delays.
Triple-A is predicting record travel in Tennessee for the Independence Day holiday.
Reports estimate 1.5 million Tennesseans will travel during the period, which is a 1.8-percent increase over last year.
