
Enhanced patrols are planned on area waters for the 4th of July weekend.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife will increase their patrols as part of “Operation Dry Water”.
The annual campaign focuses on boating under the influence enforcement and the reduction of alcohol and drug related incidents and fatalities during the holiday period.
Last year, TWRA officers made 31 boating under the influence arrests during the 4th of July weekend.
Operating a boat with a blood alcohol content of .08 or higher is illegal in Tennessee, with penalties including fines, arrest and loss of boating privileges.
