
A group of local Gleason and Henry County high school students traveled through Greece in a study abroad program in March, organized by Bethel University Global Studies
Each attendee received three hours of college credit from Bethel University.
The group was lead by Director Stacie Freeman and co-leader, Gleason school Principal, Lee Lawrence.
The group ranging explored Athens, the Acropolis, the first Olympic Stadium and the Parthenon.
The itinerary also included the region of Meteora, where the students visited the cliff-side, or “floating,” monasteries and ornate churches.
Further stops included Delphi, a crossing of the Corinth Canal, and a visit to the island of Santorini to admire its iconic white houses and blue domes.
The students included Gleasons Luke Lawrence, Hadley Garrison, Hylan Leach, and Paisley McClure. As well as Henry County students Kayli Lee and Mason Green.
