Four persons have been taken into custody following a record-breaking drug bust this week on I-40 in Haywood County.
Agents of the Criminal Interdiction Unit turned up more than 200 pounds of drugs valued at 9 million dollars.
Following a stop on the interstate, officers brought out a narcotics canine who alerted on the presence of drugs.
The Task Force Agents found two loaded firearms along with opioid pills, marijuana and 254 pounds of drugs with street names “Lean,” “Purple Drank,” and “Siz-zurp.”
Agents believe the drugs were stolen in Houston from a pharmaceutical supply business.
Haywood County Attorney General Fred A-gee commended the exceptional work by the Criminal Interdiction Unit on drug bust.
