At Dresden’s Planning Commission meeting yesterday, members voted unanimously to install seven new tornado sirens, all funded by The Dresden Rotary Clubs donations.
Locations vary from Kountry Korner, to Highway 54 South, and Sunrise Cemetery.
Mayor Mark Maddox informed the board on how the locations were determined
The seven sirens came to a total of $200 thousand and are expected to be fully operational by Thanksgiving, with weekly efficiency testing every Wednesday at noon.
General Judge Tommy Moore explains where the funds came from
In preparation for an emergency, the board also spoke about putting safety protocol in place for the students of Dresden.
