Faculty and staff members for Union City Schools held professional development this week.
School Communications Director Mike Hutchens said Director of Schools Wes Kennedy, and Director of Teachers and Learning Lance Morgan, welcomed back more than 250 employees for the upcoming school year.
In his state-of-the-system address to faculty and staff, Director Kennedy praised the group for past successes and encouraged them to be unified for even greater accomplishments.
During the event, faculty and staff were made aware of the state mandated $2,000 bonus for certified personnel, along with a bonus for non-certified workers.
Union City sweatshirts and multiple gift cards were presented during the professional development day, along with prizes for a scavenger hunt and a catered breakfast.
Union City will return students to the classroom on Monday.
