Two people from Union City were arrested in McCracken County on firearms charges.
Sheriff’s Office reports said 25 year old Jermize Weddle and 19 year old Cornelius Davis were taken into custody, after deputies were dispatched to reports of an armed subject.
Officers responded to a restaurant in Lone Oak around 3:30 Saturday morning, where they saw a vehicle fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed.
A traffic stop was initiated, with a search of the vehicle revealing an assault rifle and handgun.
During an investigation, deputies learned one of the firearms had also been reported stolen in Union City.
Weddle was taken into custody on a charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, with Davis arrested on a charge of Receiving Stolen Property.
