The Obion County Fair hosted their annual Farmers Harvest Breakfast on Thursday morning.
A large crowd turned out for the event, which featured speeches from 8th District U.S. Congressman David Kustoff and 6th District U.S. Congressman John Rose.
The featured guest speaker at the breakfast was Obion County’s Stephen Vaden, who is now the United States Deputy Secretary of Agriculture.
Vaden began with an update on economic conditions for producers.(AUDIO)
Vaden also talked about the focus of exporting more American crops to benefit rural farm operations.(AUDIO)
Vaden was nominated for for the Deputy Secretary position by President Donald Trump, and began his new position with the USDA in July.
