Andy Holt Sworn In as AG Commissioner

Assistant Ag Commissioner Andy Holt has been sworn in to the office of Commissioner of Agriculture   for the state of Tennessee. He replaces former Ag Commissioner Charlie Hatcher who stepped down earlier this month.

In the swearing ceremony Governor Lee said “Andy is a committed public servant who brings a personal understanding of the challenges & opportunities facing Tennessee farmers.  Governor Lee went on to “say he was grateful for his leadership to strengthen rural communities & support our ag industry.”

The 43 year old Holt graduated from UT Martin and UT Knoxville. He served three terms in the representing the 76th District as a state representative before being named assistant Ag Commissioner.  Mr. Holt owns a farm in nearby Dresden and he and his wife Ellie have seven children.*Photos Courtesy of Governor Bill Lee’s Facebook Page
