The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports A nighttime work zone on Interstate 24 in Marshall County will start on today as part of a project to reinforce the shoulders of two bridges.
The I-24 bridge over U.S. 62 at Exit 27/Kentucky Dam and the Tennessee River Bridge at the Marshall-Livingston County Line will be under construction.
To facilitate the work, I-24 will be blocked overnight at the work zone for a week, with traffic detoured by law enforcement.
Expect lane restrictions, detours near Exit 27 and Tennessee River Bridge.
Also starting today, bridge will be reduced to one lane in each direction during daytime hours for approximately three weeks to allow for corrective work on another project.
