While it might seem a little early at least one Weakley County elected official has made it clear that he will be seeking a second term. Sheriff Terry McDade announced he is formally seeking a second term in office.
Four years ago Sheriff McDade won the primary with 60 percent of the vote in the Republican Primary and 69% of the vote in a three candidate General Election campaign.
Election Administrator Alex Britt said the Primary is set for May 5th and all 18 County Commissioners and the School Board members in Districts 2-4-6 and 8 will be up for election.
The Weakley County Assessor of Property will not run until 20-28. Petitions will be available for anyone who wants to seek office in Weakley County.
The first day to pick up a petition will be Monday December the 22nd at the Election Commission office at 135 South Poplar Street in Dresden. You must be 18 to qualify and the qualifying dead line will be Thursday February 19th 20-26 at 12 noon.
