christmas-day-1

There is absolutely zero chance of seeing a white Christmas in the Ken-Tenn area this year, but there is a chance of seeing record warmth.

The National Weather Service says a high pressure system to the east will continue to create southerly winds and much above temperatures for the date.

Memphis Weather Service meteorologist Katie Dedeau told Thunderbolt News about the unusual weather pattern.(AUDIO)

Ms. Dedeau said the average temperature for this time of the year is around 44-degrees.

Although forecasts call for highs on Saturday near 74, Ms. Dedeau said a big change is headed to the area by Monday.(AUDIO)

The National Weather Service in Paducah said in 87 years of record keeping, only three Christmas Days have reached or topped 70-degrees.
