Jackson Purchase Distillery has been honored for their environmental practices at their Hickman production facility.
This month officials with Jackson Purchase Distillery were presented the 2025 Douglas C. Griffin Environmental Sustainability Award from the Kentucky Pollution Prevention Center.
The award recognizes Kentucky entities that have demonstrated a commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Jackson Purchase Distillery was chosen due to sustainable practices in the distilling process.
One of those is the wetcake system, which takes grain byproduct and turns it into feed for local farm animals, along with recycling a majority of water used in the distilling process.
The award is presented each year in conjunction with National Pollution Prevention Week.
