Union City Public Works Director Says Homeowners Should Begin Preparations for Possible Frozen Water Lines

A surge of very cold weather this weekend could cause major problems for water lines in the local area.

The National Weather Service says overnight temperatures Saturday night thru Monday night will range from the single digits to below zero, with daytime highs only in the teens.

Union City Public Works Director Jason Moss has offered some helpful tips for home owners and businesses in advance of the cold temperatures.(AUDIO)

 

With the chance of heavy snowfall this weekend, Moss gave another useful suggestion to find the meter box.(AUDIO)

 

Homeowners with a history of freezing water pipes are also urged to keep a stream flowing through the faucets during the brutal cold conditions.
