
Weakley and Henry counties are joining 72 other counties across the state will finally get broadband to all 95 Tennessee counties.
In a news release Governor Bill Lee approved federal funding totaling more than 400 million dollars.
A portion of the funding went Kentucky Rural Telephone Cooperative that will be some $3.6 million dollars to serve Weakley and Henry Counties.
Milan Public Utilities Authorities will receive almost 2.7 million for broadband to service parts of Gibson County.
The funding will help some 43,000 people who’ll be able to have broadband in the near future.
Governor Lee said all “Tennessee business and residents will have access to high speed internet when completed in 2028.”
