After a 10-6 vote in opposition of adding A nickel to the 1982 Severance Tax, Weakley county will not move forward regarding the proposition.
Chief Operating Officer for Gleason and Old Hickory Clay Companies, Cheryl Ward spoke on behalf of clay companies in attendance.
Ms. Ward went on to shed light on the other ways her ball clay companies contribute to the county.
The next Weakley County Commission meeting will take place Monday March 16th at 5 o’clock in the Weakley County Courthouse.
The meeting is open to the public.
