Kentucky State Police say an investigation into a shooting by Probation/Parole officers in McCracken County continues.

On March 27th, Department of Correction Probation and Parole officers responded to Marquess Drive in Paducah to contact Brandon Reed, who was a re-entry offender.

While at the location, 22 year old Rayshawn Tucker exited the rear of the residence and attacked one of the officers with an edged weapon.

Two Probation and Parole officers then discharged their weapons, which resulted in Tucker’s death.

Kentucky State Police has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings as requested by local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

In a release on Wednesday, State Police said timelines for completing investigations vary depending on the complexity of the case.
