Five Small Earthquakes Recorded Over Past Seven Days

Five small earthquakes were recorded over the past week in Lake and Dyer County.

The small tremors follow a 4.0 registered earthquake near Cooter, Missouri in Pemiscott County last Thursday.

This earthquake was felt in a 100-mile radius that included many Ken-Tenn area towns and cities.

Over the past week in Dyer County, a 1.8 tremor was recorded last Thursday afternoon northwest of Bogota near the Dyer/Obion County line.

A 1.4 tremor was detected this past Sunday night just south of the Obion County line on Cockleburr Road.

In Lake County, three small earthquakes were registered in almost the same location northwest of Vaughn-Donaldson-Fields Road.

The Center for Earthquake and Research Information said a 1.7 was recorded last Thursday night just before midnight, followed by a 1.5 on Saturday morning around 8:30 and a small 1.3 late Monday night.
