The annual National Day of Prayer will be celebrated Thursday in Obion County.
The Obion County Ministerial Alliance will host the event, which starts at noon at Merchants Park in downtown Union City.
The event was established in 1952 to mobilize pubic prayer, repentance and reflection.
It signed into law by President Harry Truman.
The National Day of Prayers focuses on seven areas of influence which includes government, military, education, family, church and media.
In case of rain, the event will take place at the Union City Municipal Building.
