A majority of school board members with the Fulton Independent School System have voted to proceed with a merger.
Following a closed session meeting Wednesday night in Fulton, school board members returned to open session and voted 3-to-2 to proceed with the process of merging with the Fulton County School System.
The acceptance of the merger between Fulton Independent Schools and the Fulton County School System will now be decided with a yes-or-no vote by the Fulton County School Board.
