Fulton County Sheriff Chad Parker made a presentation this week to honor the life saving efforts by a Hickman resident.
Sheriff Parker presented Ian Goodman with a “Certificate of Commendation and the Life Saving Award” for his heroic actions.
On Tuesday afternoon just before 4:30, Sheriff’s reports said Goodman was traveling on Sutton Road when he observed a person lying on the ground at a residence.
He immediately stopped to render assistance after a lawn mowing accident.
Due to the serious injuries of the victim, Goodman took off his belt and applied it as a tourniquet, while also contacting emergency services for help.
Following the swift response and willingness to act, the actions prevented a far worse outcome.
Sheriff Parker and his department offered sincere thanks to Ian Goodman for his courage, compassion, and decisive actions during the emergency situation.
